Students only need to attend ONE of the sessions. Honors Welcome will be held online and registration will open in the Summer Click here to register. For more information, visit uta.edu/honors/current/honors101-info.
Honors Welcome Back
The Honors Welcome is a fun, casual event where you will have the opportunity to meet other new Honors students from your major and college! Participants will play games, enjoy a free lunch, receive their first Honors College t-shirt, and meet returning Honors students. They will also learn about the various opportunities to get involved in the Honors College.
The Fall 2020 Honors Welcome event will be rescheduled.
Honors Designated Courses
The Honors College offers a limited number of Honors-designated courses each fall and spring semester. Although Honors students are not required to take Honors-designated courses, we encourage them to do so. Students enjoy the Honors-designated courses because they are smaller and provide a stronger foundation in the subject matter. If you would like to add an Honors-designated course to your Fall 2021 schedule, you should be able to do so yourself in MyMav.
If you do not need/wish to take any of the Honors-designated courses offered this fall, or you do not wish to make changes to your existing fall schedule, that is okay! You will instead contract one or more of your regular classes. We will discuss contracting in greater detail at Honors 101.
Note: Starting in Fall 2019, Honors credit for Biology 1441/1442 can only be earned in the desginated Honors section. The courses are no longer eligible to contract for Honors credit.
Honors Advising
All newly admitted Honors students will meet with an Honors advisor during their first semester as an Honors student here at UT Arlington (Fall 2021). Honors advising is supplemental to academic advising; if you have questions pertaining to which courses you will take in the fall, you should contact your regular academic advisor. You will receive additional details about Honors advising during Honors 101.
* The Honors College will adhere to all of UT Arlington's rules and regulations for meeting in groups in accordance with the most up to date COVID-19 policies in put in place by the university. Should any changes need to be made the Honors College will contact students directly via email.
I am an incoming transfer student (Fall 2021).
New Maverick Orientation
If you have not done so already, we encourage you to register for New Maverick Orientation (NMO). The earlier you attend New Maverick Orientation, the greater flexibility you will have in course scheduling.
Feel free to stop by and see us in College Hall, Suite 100, if you have questions during NMO. We are located directly across from the University Center, where you will spend most of your time during NMO.
