Annual Enrollment 2019-2020

Annual enrollment for the 2019-2020 benefit year began Sunday, July 15, and continues until 11:59 p.m., July 31. If you wish to change your benefits or re-enroll in UT FLEX, you must make these elections during the enrollment period. If you do not wish to make any changes, no action is needed. However, we recommend that you read the materials you are receiving, review your current coverage, and consider all available options for you and your family. UT Connect

To the UT Arlington Community:

By now, you should have received several communications regarding 2019 annual enrollment. We hope you are carefully reviewing the materials in preparation for electing your 2019-2020 health care coverage.

Last year, the UT CONNECT medical plan option was introduced UT System employees and non-Medicare eligible retirees in the Dallas-Fort Worth area. It is available again for 2019-2020. UT CONNECT provides access to a full range of adult and pediatric care through Southwestern Health Resources, the network formed by UT Southwestern and Texas Health Resources in 2016.

As you consider your 2019-2020 medical plan options, from now through July 31, these are a few items we’d like to share about UT CONNECT, including enhancements:

  •  UT CONNECT covers the same core benefits as UT SELECT – but, you’ll pay less for access to exceptional medical care.
  •  The annual deductibles are less. Copays to see doctors are less. For dependent coverage, you can save on monthly premiums. This can add up to hundreds of dollars (or more) in a year.
  •  New for 2019-2020: MDLIVE is a new service, which you can use to speak with a doctor anytime, anywhere. You and your dependents can speak with a doctor at night and on weekends, at your convenience – 24 hours a day, seven days a week (including weekends). What’s more, there’s no cost or copay to use it.
  •  Another new plan feature is CONNECT. (see video below) You can call or email the CONNECT team – which includes nurses and navigators – for answers to questions, assistance with scheduling an appointment or referral to see a specialist, and more.
  •  Updated for 2019-2020: The out-of-pocket maximum is exactly the same for UT CONNECT and UT Select.

The network includes 10,000+ physicians, hospital locations throughout North Texas (UT Southwestern Medical Center, Texas Health Resources, Children’s Health, Cooks Children’s and more), 150+ urgent care centers, etc. Check out healthcare providers in the network at bcbstx.com/utconnect.

As premium rates for both the UT SELECT and UT CONNECT medical plans have increased, we hope you consider UT CONNECT as a strong contender in your decision to access high-quality medical care.
