Dr. Holly Hungerford-Kresser is an Associate Professor and program coordinator in the Department of Curriculum and Instruction in the College of Education. Her research focuses on college and career readiness, particularly for first generation, under-served students and their instructors, as well as pedagogy for building college-ready classrooms.
She holds a Ph.D. in Curriculum and Instruction with a focus on literacy, and a Master's in Curriculum and Instruction--both from the University of Texas at Austin. Her Bachelor's degree and secondary teaching certificates are from Baylor University. Dr. Hungerford-Kresser teaches undergraduate courses in English methods and content literacy, as well as graduate courses in adolescent literacy, advanced writing, and literacy research. She has also taught MAVS 1000 to freshmen at UT Arlington.
