Ericka Robinson-Freeman

Associate Professor in Practice Ericka Robinson-Freeman is a licensed clinical social worker who has practice experience in the following fields: child welfare, social work and children’s health, mental health, and hospice. Ericka began her career in social work with the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services (CPS), where she worked with families of medically fragile children as a caseworker and then, supervisor, in rural and outlying counties. While with CPS, Ericka also served as student field instructor for a county-funded family outreach unit. Ericka joined the UT Arlington School of Social Work faculty in 2011, where she teaches undergraduate and graduate courses in foundations of social work and clinical practice. She received the BSW Award for Teaching Excellence in 2013, 2014, 2015 and 2016 and was nominated for the Provost’s Award for Excellence in Teaching in 2014 and 2017. Ericka became a Service Learning Fellow in 2017. Outside of the classroom, Ericka serves on UT Arlington’s Advisory Committee on Student Affairs, the Tarrant County Child Protective Services Board and the Community Partners of Tarrant County Board. Before joining the field of social work, Ericka worked in public relations with non-profit organizations.
