Fall 2019 IMSE Master's Comprehensive Exam:

Thesis Plan:

Students need to get permission of a faculty member who will agree to supervise his/her thesis and written approval from a faculty prior to register. Students must pass 3 core courses before starting the thesis.

Curricular Practical Training (CPT) Internships

IE Department Requirements to apply for CPT Internships:

  • Must be enrolled in 5191
  • Must have a 3.0 GPA
  • Can only apply for internships for two semesters; not including the first semester.
  • Email all required documents (including unofficial transcript) to the Industrial Engineering Office before the semester's census date.
  • A 3-page internship report is due on last day of semester via email

Optional Practical Training (OPT)

  • Apply the last semester/graduating semester.
  • Must have a 3.0 GPA

  • Email all required documents to the Industrial Engineering Office no later than 5 weeks from 1st day of the semester.

GTA Positions

The department offers a limited number of graduate teaching and research assistantships. These positions are offered to students with a good academic background and very good GRE verbal and quantitative scores.
