Images of Different Types of Student Surveys

Surveys

The Office of Institutional Effectiveness and Reporting coordinates and administers the following surveys to different groups of students:

Undergraduate Exit Survey

This survey is administered to all graduating seniors at the end of fall, spring, and summer. It includes questions on the students’ reasons for attending UTA; satisfaction with various aspects of their academic and social experiences; satisfaction with certain university programs, services, and departments; level of preparation in core curriculum objectives; plans for employment; education after graduation; and specific questions provided by each school/college.

National Survey of Student Engagement (NSSE)

This questionnaire is administered every other year to all first-year and senior students in the spring semester. Information is collected about student participation and engagement in programs and activities both inside and outside the classroom. It provides greater understanding of how undergraduate students spend their time and what they gain from attending UTA.

Student Feedback Survey (SFS)

This survey is conducted at the end of every term to provide students with the opportunity to submit their feedback on their experiences in all courses with five or more students (lectures, seminars, labs, and practicums) offered at UTA. In this survey, students assess the quality of the courses and instruction received, the usefulness and applicability of the information taught, and how confident they feel about their own learning.
