Actuarial Science Club

The purpose of the organization is to bring together students who are interested in pursuing a career in actuarial science. This includes starting study groups for  actuarial exams, generating information about actuarial careers, interacting with employers in the area, and helping students prepare to find employment in the actuarial science field.

American Mathematical Society (AMS) Graduate Chapter

The Graduate Chapter of the American Mathematical Society at UTA (AMS UTA) was established as an organization with the following objectives: To foster community among UTA graduate students in mathematics by committing to the multi-dimensional needs of emerging mathematicians; to promote social interaction and professional development within the UTA Department of Mathematics; to offer a forum for scientific exploration and mathematical discourse through training, mentoring, observing, and practice; to connect graduate students with potential mentors, collaborators, colleagues, peers, and friends within the greater society of domestic and international mathematics by supporting travel to academic institutions and research institutions and by inviting visitors to UTA; and to generate interest in participating in AMS sponsored activities.

Association for Women in Mathematics

The purpose of the Association for Women in Mathematics is to encourage women and girls to study and to have active careers in the mathematical sciences. We aim to promote equal opportunity and equal treatment of women and girls in the mathematical sciences.

Mathematical Association of America (MAA)

The MAA is dedicated to sparking interest in mathematics and its applications and providing the tools necessary for a deeper understanding of mathematics. The organization seeks to create a community enabling students to find interesting discussion, useful advice, and like-minded friends and mentors. The MAA is the world’s largest community of mathematicians, students, and enthusiasts. We further the understanding of our world through mathematics because mathematics drives society and shapes our lives.

Mid-Cities Math Circle

The main goal of the Mid-Cities Math Circle seminar is to provide a stimulating environment for local area middle- and high-school students to learn mathematics. Regular attendance of the (MC)² seminar will help students not only improve their individual problem-solving skills, but also enjoy and understand mathematics better. (MC)² is designed for students in grades 8-12. Students in lower grades are welcome as well but should be advised that a solid mathematical background is required in order to follow the discussions.

Pi Mu Epsilon Honor Society UTA Chapter

Pi Mu Epsilon is a mathematics honor society consisting of chapters at various approved institutions of learning, and affiliate chapters at approved non-academic institutions. The UTA chapter is the Texas Iota chapter. It was chartered in 1975 and was the 191st chapter of the society. The society's purpose is to promote scholarly activity in mathematics among students in academic institutions, and among the staffs of qualified non-academic institutions.

Society for Industrial and Applied Mathematics (SIAM)

SIAM is a graduate student organization dedicated to promoting industrial and applied mathematics. SIAM fosters the development of applied mathematical and computational methodologies needed in various application areas. Applied mathematics, in partnership with computational science, is essential in solving many real-world problems. Through publications, research and community, the mission of SIAM is to build cooperation between mathematics and the worlds of science and technology.
