Army ROTC Liberal Arts Scholarships
|
Welcome to Military Science
I want to congratulate you on your accomplishments so far and applaud your desire to pursue a degree and look at earning a commission in the United States Army. ROTC is a college class (lecture and lab) taken each semester in addition to other academic classes while earning degree. The freshman year of ROTC you will have a 1 hour lecture on Tuesday or Thursday and a 3 hour lab on Thursday. Then your sophomore year it is a 2 hour lecture on Tuesday or Thursday and the lab on Thursdays. Lastly your junior and senior years you have a 1.5 hour lecture on Tuesday and Thursday with the lab on Thursday. UT-Arlington has a very long and prestigious military lineage and supports the ROTC program whole heartily. The University actually started as Carlisle Military Academy in 1902, and is one of the best ROTC Programs in Cadet Command. In fact for the last 4 years in row our cadets were nationally ranked in the top 20 of the nation (#7, #3, #2, #17 ) out of the over 5,000 cadets commissioned per year. UTA is an excellent academic institution and is nationally recognized for many of its programs. Our partnership schools are University of Dallas, University of Texas at Dallas, Southern Methodist University, Dallas Baptist University, Texas A&M at Commerce, all the Tarrant County Community Colleges and all of the Dallas County Community Colleges. Which means you can do your regular academic work at the partnership school and drive over to UTA for the ROTC classes on Thursday.
