WebiLang, an online language school based in Omsk, Siberia has offered Ashlie Devenney, double major in CLIS-Russian and Linguistics, a teaching internship for the Summer 2020 term.

WebiLang is an online learning environment where Russian-speaking children can build their English language skills. Konstantin Shestakov, Director of WebiLang, is a frequent visitor to UTA's campus and regular guest speaker in our department's Localization and Russian courses.

Ashlie, who is also earning a certificate in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL) is excited for the opportunity to put her skills into practice. After graduation, Ashlie hopes that her studies in Russian and linguistics will lead to a career in the preservation of endangered languages in Siberia and remote parts of Russia.

Ashlie also serves as the President of Russian Culture Society, our department's Russian language student club, and participates in the MODL Ambassador program, a group of students who volunteer at department events and recruitment activities.
