Karbhari to be featured speaker at entrepreneurs conference

UT Arlington President Vistasp M. Karbhari will be a featured speaker at an Oct. 26 conference hosted by The Indus Entrepreneurs, The Dallas Morning News' Biz Beat Blog reported. Organized by the group’s Dallas, Houston and Austin chapters, the TiECon Southwest 2013 will feature panel discussions on startup funding, Big Data and cross border trade and innovation.

Criminology assistant professor's study featured on Mother Jones Network

A study co-authored by Seokjin Jeong, UT Arlington assistant professor of criminology and criminal justice, that suggested anti-bullying programs in schools could be having the opposite of their intended effect -resulting in more bullying reports – was featured on the Mother Nature Network. As schools gear up for National Bullying Prevention Month this October, Jeong urges administrators to move beyond individual risk factors and focus on systemic change within the schools.
