Campus construction bonds

A Texas House panel approved a plan Wednesday to authorize $3.1 billion in bonds for construction and renovation projects at more than 50 public universities, colleges and health science centers, the Austin American-Statesman reported.

Aslakson proud to "Play LIke a Girl"

KXAS/NBC 5 interviewed UT Arlington student Josie Aslakson, who is featured in the new national television campaign, “Play Like a Girl.” The ad hopes to empower girls to overcome adversity through sports. “When I first started out I was shy; now I feel like I can do anything,” said Aslakson, who was paralyzed in a car crash and now plays for the Lady Movin’ Mavs wheelchair basketball team.

Kahlo-inspired restaurant readies for College Park District

La Blue Casa, a restaurant inspired by famed Mexican artist Frida Kahlo, is set for a soft opening Friday, March 27, in the UT Arlington College Park District, the Fort Worth Star-Telegram reported.
