Environmental impact

KUHF Houston Public Radio, and reported on a new, comprehensive UT Arlington study of potential groundwater contamination in areas of unconventional oil and gas drilling areas. 

Prayer vigil

KXAS/NBC 5, KDFW/Fox 4, WFAA/ABC 8, The Fort Worth Star-Telegram and other media reported on an inter-denominational prayer vigil that several churches in Arlington held Monday evening at UT Arlington’s College Park Center. The gathering was intended to honor the victims of violence in Charleston, S.C., and to spark conversation about the Arlington area community.

Nursing leader

The University of Texas at Arlington has named Marco Brotto, an internationally renowned scientist in muscle and bone physiology, the George W. and Hazel M. Jay Professor in the UT Arlington College of Nursing and Health Innovation, the Dallas Business Journal’s People on the Move column reported.

Alumni of note

The Wall Street Journal highlighted Kelcy Warren, Energy Transfer Partners CEO, as a dealmaker in the energy industry. Warren earned a bachelor's degree in civil engineering from UT Arlington.
