Wings to call UTA home

The WNBA unveiled the new team name and logo of the Dallas Wings, formerly the Tulsa Shock, at a press conference at UTA, The Dallas Morning News, KDAF/CW 33, Hoopfeed, KXAS/NBC 5, D Magazine online, KTVT/CBS 11, Fort Worth Star-Telegram, Fort Worth Business and many other media outlets reported. The team announced its move to Arlington in July and will play at UTA’s College Park Center starting in 2016.

Political expertise

Rebecca Deen, associate professor and chair of the UT Arlington political science department, was interviewed on KERA/90.1 FM about proposed ballot measures that Texans will vote on today. Deen discussed school bond packages, allowing statewide officials to live outside of Austin and hunting/fishing regulations.

Shark Tank personality to visit

The Dallas Morning News reported that entrepreneur and TV personality Daymond John will discuss “Shark Tank Entrepreneurship” at the next UTA Maverick Speakers Series lecture on Nov. 10 at College Park Center.
