UAV flying with weights

Sampath Vengate, who graduated from UTA in May with a master’s in aerospace engineering, is the first person to successfully flight test an unmanned aerial vehicle that uses moving weights in its wings instead of traditional control surfaces or ailerons to turn, Phys.org reported.

Brainstorming ineffective

Paul Paulus, a UTA psychology professor, was quoted in an article in Mentalfloss.com about research that shows traditional brainstorming sessions are not particularly effective. 

Medal of Valor winner

Jeff George, a UTA police officer who received a UT System Medal of Valor for helping save the life of a City of Arlington police officer, was interviewed on KRLD/1080 AM and KTVT/CBS 11.

Engineering grad also photographs

UTA engineering alumnus Nikola Olic was featured in a Dallas Observer article. In addition to being an engineer, Olic is a professional BMX flatlander and photographer who takes fascinating pictures of downtown Dallas' architecture.
