UT Arlington Viola Ensemble, Dallas Symphony violists to perform unique recital

ARLINGTON - Bratsche con Brio, the Viola Ensemble of The University of Texas at Arlington will present a recital at 7:30 p.m. Monday, March 31, in Irons Recital Hall, Fine Arts Building, 700 Greek Row Drive on The University of Texas at Arlington campus.

The recital features students from the studio of viola professor Catherine Forbes and alumni of the viola performance program.

The program will include “Sextet” by UT Arlington Associate Professor George Chave and the premier of “Quartet for Four Violas and Percussion” by prize-winning composer Andrew Pierce, UT Arlington alumni. The ensemble will also perform the romantic “Fantasy Quartet” by York Bowen. Guest artists Tom Demer and David Sywak of the Dallas Symphony Orchestra will make a special appearance, performing sizzling arrangements of Kiss and Lynyrd Skynyrd.
