ARLINGTON - University of Texas at Arlington Movin’ Mavs athletes Danny Fik, senior captain and David Wilkes, sophomore, have been selected to participate in the NCAA FinalFour Wheelchair Basketball demonstration event to be held April 4-7 in San Antonio.

The event was integrated by the NCAA into the Final Four March Madness event last year as a way to include diversity and help educate people about the abilities of people with disabilities, and will be continued this year because of the popularity of the demonstrations.

The top wheelchair basketball players in the country were selected based on court skills, attitude and coaches recommendations. Fik and Wilkes will perform demonstrations at the March Madness venue talking to fans, doing basketball demonstrations and competing in a wheelchair basketball demonstration game in the FinalFour Arena.

The inclusion of athletes with disabilities is sponsored by the Hartford Insurance, the NCAA and the National Wheelchair Basketball Association.
