UT Arlington to host Naturalization Ceremony

ARLINGTON - Texas Hall will be the site of a Naturalization Ceremony at 11 a.m. Thursday, May 22. The Honorable Charles Bell, U.S. Magistrate Judge, will preside over the United States District Court Northern District of Texas Fort Worth Division, which will be in session in Texas Hall for the ceremony.

Approximately 600 immigrants are expected to take the Oath of Allegiance to the United States. They will be welcomed by Arlington Mayor Robert Cluck and University of Texas at Arlington President James D. Spaniolo will give the keynote address. The Pledge of Allegiance will be led by UT Arlington Police Guard Abdul Azim, who is a naturalized citizen. Cindy-Wilder Graves, executive assistant to the Dean of the College of Liberal Arts will sing “The Star Spangled Banner” and “America the Beautiful.” Other participants include the Sons of The American Revolution Texas Society.
