The University of Texas at Arlington College of Nursing and Health Innovation is among the nation’s best values in college education for registered nurses who want to earn an online bachelor’s of science in nursing degree, according to Value College.com.

Value Colleges’ Top 50 Best Value Online RN to BSN list is a guide to the online colleges and universities that find the right balance between quality and price.

UT Arlington’s online program ranked No. 6 on the list of programs that are accredited through either the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing or the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Association. Evaluators said this choice ensures that all of the entries display a common level of quality, integrity, rigor and value that translates into a marketable degree.

Anne Bavier, dean of the College of Nursing and Health Innovation, said the ranking is added recognition of the University’s capacity to provide an exceptional education for those interested in nursing, developing leadership and evidence-based care through an affordable and web-based approach.

“We are proud of our faculty teaching in our online program who are outstanding scholars, researchers and nurse practitioners,” Bavier said. “They are supporting students utilizing current advanced instructional technology, as nursing and health science courses help students address health needs of various populations.”

She added: “We set the nation’s model for individualized instruction and coaching—regardless of location or course-delivery method.“

UT Arlington offers both the BSN and RN to BSN programs online, as well as its master’s programs. ValueCollege.com calls UT Arlington’s programs highly affordable.

To compare the nursing schools, ValueCollege.com used three metrics:

  • Payscale’s 2015 College ROI Report by Healthcare Career criteria
  • U.S. News & World Report’s national rankings
  • Credit per hour tuition rate (for the actual Online BSN program) as reported by each individual college
