“Cool Kids” Echosmith are set to bring their dance-rock influenced sounds to The University of Texas at Arlington when they perform a concert at 8:00 p.m. Friday, March 4 at Texas Hall, 701 W. Nedderman Dr.

Tickets are available now to UTA students, faculty, staff and community at, at the UTA Tickets Box Office located at College Park Center, or by calling the box office at 817-272-9595. Tickets are limited to four per person.

The spring concert is sponsored by University Events, EXCEL Campus Activities and the Division for Student Affairs.

EXCEL Campus Activities brainstormed possible bands with committee members in the fall and then conducted a Facebook poll to reach the final decision.

The group, comprised of siblings Jamie (vocals/guitar), Sydney (vocals/keyboard), Noah (vocals/bass), and Graham (drums), has gone from a little-known Los Angeles band to an indie pop breakout in less than a year. Echosmith is best known for their hit song “Cool Kids,” which reached number 13 on the Billboard Hot 100 and was certified double platinum.

“Cool Kids” has sold over 1 million copies in the United States and also peaked at No. 6 on the Australian singles chart. The band’s debut album “Talking Dreams,” hit No. 1 on Billboard’s Heatseekers chart.

While the siblings had bands with other friends, they had a feeling they worked better as a family. “We found that the sibling band was the one that worked. We grew up with so many of the same influences – that made it fun for writing, “ lead singer Sydney told Yahoo! Music.
