Gov. Abbott speaks at awards dinner

The University of Texas Arlington honored Texas Governor Greg Abbott with the President’s Medal at its 54th annual Distinguished Alumni Awards on Friday, Nov. 9. Gov. Abbott studied finance at UTA from 1976 to 1978 before graduating from UT Austin with a bachelor’s of business administration. He was recognized for his decades of public service and for the value he places on his education at UTA.

The awarding of the President’s Medal to Governor Abbott highlighted UTA’s signature alumni event that was held as part of UTA’s homecoming week. He is only the second recipient to receive this recognition.
