Transferring students

The partnership between UTA and the Dallas County Community College District is an example of a way to ease the pathway for transfer students, The Dallas Morning News reported in an editorial piece about streamlining college credit courses in Texas to help more students earn degrees.

Art engagement

Darryl Lauster, associate professor of art at UTA, created his art exhibition, "The First Amendment Machine,” to engage the public in the debate swirling around freedom of speech at public universities, The Dallas Morning News reported. The exhibition provides viewers the opportunity to exercise their right to free speech by anonymously broadcasting what they say inside the gallery to an outdoor commons area.

Professor expertise

A book by Amy Speier, UTA associate professor of sociology and anthropology in the College of Liberal Arts, is used as course material in a class about gender, health and medicine at Luther College, Luther College Chips reported. Speier recently visited the institution to give a guest lecture on fertility and globalized health care.
