Democrats could face tough road

Tom Marshall, UT Arlington political science professor, said Democrats may be in for a bumpy political road since Joe Biden was elected president, KERA 90.1 FM reported. Marshall said new presidents often drag down other candidates of their party in the next election cycle, which would be 2022.

Entrepreneur veterans help

Veterans Day should be a day to help military-connected entrepreneurs succeed, an Inc. Magazine article reported. Patrick Alcorn founder of the Business Beyond the Battlefield conference and director at the University of Texas at Arlington Veterans Business Outreach Center, recently assembled a great guide on how to get started with the veteran-owned certification and contracting process.

Environmental justice

Kate Hyun, a UT Arlington assistant professor of civil engineering, will use a U.S. Department of Transportation grant to incorporate environmental justice as an additional factor to determine where resources get dispersed during a natural disaster, Mirage News reported.

Tales of service

Every military member has a tale of service, the Fort Worth Star-Telegram reported. Aayush Kharel is a UT Arlington student, a cashier at an Exxon and a part-time member of his university’s ROTC program. In a few months, he will add another role: A/C power mechanic in the U.S. Army.
