Food waste into fuel
The DFW region has about 36 years before its existing landfills fill up. That’s why researchers at UT Arlington, led by civil engineering Professor Melanie Sattler, are finding out if there’s a better way for cities to process food waste, reduce the amount of methane entering the atmosphere and produce alternative fuels in the process. The story was reported in the Star-Telegram and based off a UTA news release.
