Better microchips
Chenyun Pan, UTA assistant professor of electrical engineering, received a four-year, $230,000 grant from the Interuniversity Microelectronics Centre to improve complex microchips, Electronic Business Daily reported. Pan hopes that his research will lead to greater efficiency as chip technology continues to shrink.
Sisters in film
Racheal Ihim, UTA business management major, was featured in The Dallas Morning News and D Magazine for her film debut as an actress. Filming for No Strings took place in spring 2019, with a planned 2020 release date delayed by the COVID-19 pandemic. Despite the busy filming schedule and her full-time status as a UTA student, she still made the dean’s list that semester. Rebecca Ugo, Ihim’s sister and the film’s creator and director, will open the micro-budget drama this weekend at theaters in Austin and North Texas.
