COVID-19 vaccination accessibility

A new vaccination site located on The University of Texas at Arlington campus will provide vaccine access to underserved residents in Tarrant County, Fort Worth Star-Telegram reported. Vaccinations will be available by walk-up appointment or advance registration online through at least the end of June.

UTA vaccination site

The University of Texas at Arlington opened a vaccination site on campus in collaboration with University of North Texas Health Science Center and Tarrant County, U.S. Fed News and Patch.com reported. The site is located in UTA's Physical Education Building at 801 W. Greek Row Dr, and free parking in adjacent lots is available to visitors.

Tu Futuro scholarship

Incoming freshman Yalitza Marlin Gonzalez received a full-tuition, four-year scholarship presented by Univision Dallas-Fort Worth and The University of Texas at Arlington U.S. Fed News reported. Gonzalez, a high school senior at the School of Health Professions at Yvonne A. Ewell Townview Center, plans to earn a degree in nursing.

South Cooper Street Corridor Strategy

Representatives from The University of Texas at Arlington will partner with city of Arlington officials to design and implement public art installations as part of the city’s newly adopted South Cooper Street Corridor Strategy, WBAP-AM reported.

World War II memorial

The city of Arlington unveiled its new World War II memorial, where one of two monuments recognizes the wartime contributions of more than 5,000 students, faculty, and alumni of The University of Texas at Arlington, formerly known as North Texas Agricultural College, CBS 11 reported.
