The Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board has selected The University of Texas at Arlington as a Star Award recipient for its creation of high quality, innovative, flexible online and digitally based course content, U.S. Fed News and Mirage News reported.

Research shows mental strain
Sophia Fantus, assistant professor in the UT Arlington School of Social Work, has shown through recent research the mental strain and moral distress experienced by health care chaplains and social workers in the course of their professional duties, U.S. Fed News reported.

Improving smart traffic
Pengfei (Taylor) Li, assistant professor in the Department of Civil Engineering, is leading a U.S. and Texas departments of transportation $292,010 grant that will aim to improve smart traffic signal management through state-of-the-art traffic signal simulation techniques and big data, Engineering Business Daily reported.

Apprenticeship program
Stage West Theatre’s apprenticeship program was featured in a Fort Worth Report article. Katie Cooley, who is studying theater design and technology at UT Arlington, was one of the apprentices featured.
