Cowley elected to board
UT Arlington President Jennifer Cowley was elected to the Internet2 Board of Trustees, PR Newswire, Iowa’s NBC WHO 13, San Francisco’s KRON 4 and many other media outlets reported. The Internet2 Board provides strategic direction, leadership and oversight for Internet2, a non-profit, member-driven advanced technology community founded by the nation's leading higher education institutions in 1996.
Intensive workshop
South Texas College students came away with a wide variety of skills through an intensive workshop made possible through a partnership between STC and UT Arlington, WN.com and Texas Border Business reported. The National Science Foundation funded the workshop. Adnan Rajib, UTA assistant professor of civil engineering, was a guest instructor.
History podcast
Patryk Babiracki, a UT Arlington associate professor of history, has started a podcast called #AppliedHistory on the New Books Network. The podcast explores the practical uses of historical knowledge in all realms of life, but especially in business and tech. The last episode titled How Company Leaders Can Move Forward By Taking a Step Back is available now.
