Three minutes to impress three judges. The pressure was on, but UTA students did not faulter during the College of Business's Shark Tank.

The event coincided with a campus appearance by Daymond John, a "shark" from the popular ABC television show. John is a wildly successful entrepreneur and was an enthusiastic and energetic Maverick Speaker Series guest.

At UTA's Startup Lounge, students pitched their own entreprenuerial ideas to judges who represented alumni, local corporations, and community organizations. The student pitches ranged from chocolate personalized with printed Instagram photos, to a gun magazine that only accepts blanks to prevent live ammunition accidents.
