Maverick Speakers Series: Ron Paul

Friday, February 5, 2016

Former U.S. Congressman Ron Paul visited The University of Texas at Arlington as part of the popular Maverick Speakers Series.

Paul spoke to an enthusiastic crowd of about 1,500 people inside Texas Hall on February 2, 2016. His lecture was entitled “Liberty Defined.”

Earlier in the day he spoke with a group of students during a “Master Class” inside University Hall. He explained his view of individual liberties and the limited role he believes the government should play in people’s lives. He talked at length about economics and answered several student questions.

The 2015-2016 Maverick Speakers Series continues on February 25, 2016 with Political Strategist and Media Commentator Donna Brazile. Conservationist and Primatologist Jane Goodall is the final speaker of the year on March 31, 2016. Previous speakers this season included actress and activist Mia Farrow and entrepreneur Daymond John. Lectures are free, but tickets are required and are available at utatickets.com.
