This guide is intended to assist all UTA students, faculty and staff in manually installing and configuring a Xenapp client application that is called Citrix Receiver for a Windows platform. In order to take advantage of using the applications that we provide through our Xenapp portal, the installation of Citrix Receiver is necessary.

Local computer requirements: PC

  • Windows 7, 32-bit and 64-bit editions (including Embedded Edition)
  • Windows Thin PC


  • VGA or SVGA video adapter with color monitor
  • Windows-compatible sound card for sound support (optional)
  • For network connections to the server farm, a network interface card (NIC) and the appropriate network transport software

Internet Browsers Supported

  • Internet Explorer Version 6.0 through 11.0
    • Connections to StoreFront or Web Interface support the 32-bit mode of Internet Explorer.
  • Mozilla Firefox Version 1.x through 45.x
  • Google Chrome Version 10.0 and later.

Listed as follows are instructions on how you may install the Citrix Receiver from our Web portal.

In order to install Citrix Receiver and access from home or outside of uta network/campus, you must first install and log onto UTA VPN

If you are on campus and accessing the internet via campus network and wireless, there is no need to log onto UTA VPN.

  1. Open a web browser and type
  2. Click on the check box t labeled “I agree with the Citrix license agreement” and then click on the“Install” button.

  3. Select “Run” button at the pop up prompt-window to begin the installation.

  4. Select “Yes” if you see the following security warning “Do you want to allow the following program to make changes to this computer?”

  5. Click “install” to begin the installation.
  6. Once the installation is completed, enter at prompt window.

  7. It will prompt for the user to login. Enter “uta\” and then your netid and password to logon.

  8. Go back to the Internet Browser; use your netid and password to log onto onlineapps website.

  9. Select “Add Apps” to add applications from the “All Apps” menu.

  10. To run and launch application, click on the application name.
