The RDS/Discoverer database (RDS90PRD) environment is undergoing an upgrade.  For more information, visit RDS/Discoverer Change-Over.  Check this page for status updates.


EDSDWP Daily Refresh has been delayed.  Data may be out of synch with RDS90PRD until refresh is resolved.

Please connect to Discoverer or the database and verify your reports and data are correct.


PS Query

Query Viewer and Query Manager are tools for creating and running queries within the PeopleSoft environments. Queries can be scheduled and devlivered in downloadable formats like HTML, PDF, CSV (Excel compatible), and XML. BI Publisher

PeopleSoft offers a Business Intelligence tool for use with Campus Solutions (MyMav) data sources. Connected Queries, Pivot Grids, PS Queries can be combined using a tool called BI Publisher (formerly XML Publisher). A BI Publisher report can combine different sources of data with a template to output data in specified format. Once such a report is created it can be scheduled to run automatically (departmental statement of accounts) or it can be run by a privilaged user (1098-T tax form). BI Publisher templates can be created in MS Word using the DesignHelper.

Reporting Data Service (RDS)

OIT offers a Business Intelligence tool for use with Campus Solutions (MyMav) data sources. The data warehouse is known as RDS and it is refreshed each morning. This warehouse provides pre-built views of historical and transactional data. Access is granted based on specific business need and subject area. Employees may contact the UTA Help Desk to request access.

Oracle Discoverer

Oracle Discoverer is the current tool for creating and using reports on the RDS warehouse. Discoverer comes in three flavors to serve different user needs.

  • Service Online  Oracle Discoverer Viewer - this is a web based interface. Login is required. Users can connect to the reporting ware house to run exsiting reports. To access the Viewer, use your UTA NetID and Password. Access should be granted for all employees. To connect to the RDS warehouse you will need an RDS username and password and follow the instructions in the Wiki to create a connection.
    To request access to RDS, please contact the UTA Help Desk and specify that you are requesting Discoverer and RDS access.

  • Service Online   Oracle Discoverer Plus - this is a Java based interface that allows more advanced reporting options and allows users to create new reports. Discoverer Plus is currently unavailable pending security user testing and Java configuration instructions.

  • Service Online  Oracle Discoverer Desktop - this is a Microsoft Windows based program that allows more advanced reporting options. Access is restricted to specific users. Contact the UTA Help Desk to request access. Users are able to create more advanced reports using custom SQL. The program is available for download from the Oracle OTN. It does require the installation of additional Oracle software and an OTN account. This article describes how to force the 32-bit version to install on 64-bit Windows 7 and Windows 10.
