Mission Statement

The mission of the Network Services group is to provide highly available, flexible, and advanced network communication infrastructure in an efficient, cost effective and timely manner for The University of Texas at Arlington user community in support of the institution's strategic mission of the advancement of knowledge and the pursuit of excellence.

The Network Services group installs and supports the basic network infrastructure that is utilized by OIT departments, as well as other entities, to provide advanced network communications services to the UT Arlington student, faculty, and staff communities. Most generally stated Network Services is responsible for the physical network infrastructure, starting with the fiber and copper wiring plant up to the network electronics (switches, hubs, wireless access points, and routers), providing layer-3 network services (including DDNS and DHCP) to all computational facilities across the campus. Network Services closely collaborates with the UT Arlington Telecommunications department in order to ensure the physical wiring plant is sufficient to support current Telecommunication requirements, as well as future VOIP services.
