Before Orientation

Registering for orientation is just the first step in coming to campus.  To ensure that you are prepared for New Maverick International Orientation, this section of the website includes information on document check-in, testing requirements, as well as, advising and class registration for your first semester classes. Check out the Pre-Orientation to-do list below to make sure you don’t forget anything.

International Orientation To-Do List

  • Visit the International Office Welcome Center to complete your document check-in. This process is required and must be completed before attending orientation.
  • Undergraduates are required to complete the TSI test, unless otherwise exempt. Please see the TSI Website for detailed information.
  • Bacterial Meningitis Vaccination Requirement
    • The State of Texas requires that all incoming Texas college students under 22 years old must be immunized against bacterial meningitis before they enroll in an institution of higher education. Prospective UT Arlington students who do not submit the proper vaccination documentation by the deadline will be dropped from classes and will not be allowed to re-enroll.  New international students are highly encouraged to receive their vaccination in their home country in order to meet the deadlines. Please refer to the official UT Arlington Bacterial Meningitis website to learn the deadline for your enrollment term and how to complete the vaccination requirement.
  • Set-up your UT Arlington email address. All University correspondence will be sent to your UT Arlington email address, so it is important that you set up your email as soon as possible.
  • All undergraduate students must meet with an advisor before registering for classes.
    • Transfer Students, with more than 30 credits, are advised by their department. Check out the Advising and Registration page if you do not know your advisor.
    • Freshmen are advised through University College. International Freshman that are attending the August 17-18 Orientation session will be advised at orientation. Please contact the University Advising Center to schedule an advising appointment, if you will be attending a different orientation date.
