Orientation Dates

Before choosing your orientation date, you need to know your options. If you are starting at UTA in the fall semester, you will enjoy a two-day orientation with the opportunity to participate in the Overnight Experience. If you plan to enroll starting in UTA’s summer term, you will receive a shortened one-day orientation.

FALL FRESHMAN ORIENTATION

This two-day session will fly by, and when you are done, you should have a fall semester schedule of classes, a great introduction to your new school, and several new friends! Be sure to bring your parents or family, too!

  • June 11-12, 2018 (Monday-Tuesday)
  • June 14-15, 2018 (Thursday-Friday)
  • June 18-19, 2018 (Monday-Tuesday)
  • June 25-26, 2018 (Monday-Tuesday)
  • June 28-29, 2018 (Thursday-Friday)
  • July 12-13, 2018 (Thursday-Friday)
  • July 16-17, 2018 (Monday-Tuesday)
  • July 23-24, 2018 (Monday-Tuesday)
  • July 26-27, 2018 (Thursday-Friday)
  • July 30-31, 2018 (Monday-Tuesday)
  • August 14-15, 2018 (Tuesday-Wednesday)#

* International freshmen (students with an F-1 or J-1 visa) must attend the August 14-15 session.

FALL FRESHMAN ORIENTATION WITH THE OVERNIGHT EXPERIENCE

Whether you will travel several hours or just a few minutes to orientation, make the most of your session with the Maverick Overnight Experience!

  • Stay overnight in Vandergriff Hall
  • Enjoy dinner in the College Park District and breakfast in Connection Café
  • Make new friends
  • Participate in fun activities with our Orientation Leaders

For those who participate, the Overnight Experience is the highlight of New Maverick Orientation! You will receive a linen packet, which includes sheets, blanket, pillow, and bath towel, so you only need to bring the following items:

  • Change of clothes
  • Personal toiletries
  • Shower shoes
  • Alarm Clock

NOTE: Limited rooms are available for parents and guests that would like to stay overnight. Students and parents/guests should pack separately as they will be assigned to different rooms in the residence hall.

The Overnight Experience is available for just $40 at all freshman orientations that occur in June and July.

SUMMER FRESHMAN ORIENTATION

Many freshmen get a head start on their college experience through summer coursework. This one-day orientation session gives you the basics as you quickly start classes after high school graduation.
