Mav OL

Maverick Orientation Leaders (Mav OLs) are current students who work with the New Maverick Orientation Program. Mav OLs assist in welcoming new students and their families to UT Arlington.   Students selected to be Maverick Orientation Leaders have succeeded academically and understand the importance of giving back to their community. Maverick Orientation Leader is a very prestigious leadership position.

As each population of students is unique we have different teams of Mav OLs to work with specific populations.

  • Freshmen Orientation Leaders help welcome the new freshmen and their parents to campus during the freshmen orientation sessions held during the summer months.
  • Transfer Orientation Leaders are employed throughout the year and welcome over 4000 transfer students at the year-round transfer orientation sessions.
Each Mav OL position has different responsibilities and benefits but all are excited to share their story with the incoming Maverick Community!

Students that began their college career at UT Arlington, as well as those who transferred here from another university are eligible to apply for the Maverick Orientation Leader position. Check out the menu on the left-hand side of the page for more information about the two different positions including benefits, application dates and the interview process.
