New Maverick Orientation has four different types of orientation programs to fit the unique needs of our new transfer students. Before choosing your orientation date, learn which program is best suited for you.
Transfer Experience is designed for students who are interested in the complete college experience. This full-day orientation program (8:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m.) will give you the opportunity to connect with other students within your college or major, learn about academic resources for your degree program, and discover involvement opportunities to engage in UTA’s vibrant campus life. The Transfer Experience will immerse you in the Maverick Spirit right from the start of your journey.
Transfer Express is designed for older students who have in-depth knowledge of the collegiate environment. To qualify for the Transfer Express session, students must meet one of the following criteria:
This half-day session (8:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m.) will cover the basics and empower you to complete the remaining items necessary for you to start classes and succeed as a Maverick.
Prior to select Transfer Experience orientations, we offer the Transfer Overnight Experience. The Transfer Overnight Experience is a great way to meet new people, learn more about campus life, and create lasting memories.
For those who participate, the Overnight Experience is the highlight of New Maverick Orientation! You will receive a linen packet, which includes sheets, blanket, pillow, and bath towel, so you only need to bring the following items:
The Overnight Experience is available for just $40 prior to the following sessions:
An online orientation may be used in rare circumstances to satisfy the orientation requirement. Our online program will introduce you to the UT Arlington campus and help you learn about valuable campus resources and involvement opportunities.
The online orientation program is designed for students whose travel to campus is difficult or impossible (such as active duty military members, out-of-state students, etc.). UTA believes that if you are attending classes on our campus, the most beneficial orientation for you will be one of our on-campus programs. Therefore, online orientation requests for busy lifestyles or work are not approved.
Transfer students who are interested in completing orientation online must submit a detailed, written request to email@example.com.
