The state of Texas and UT Arlington have certain requirements that must be met before students can enroll in classes. All testing requirements should be completed before attending orientation to ensure no delays when registering for classes.
All students are required to complete the Texas Success Initiative (TSI) prior to attending orientation, as stipulated by the State of Texas. If this requirement is not complete you will be unable to register for classes at orientation.
You can find your TSI status in your Student Center in MyMav or on your orientation registration confirmation email. Veterans can satisfy this requirement by submitting a copy of their DD-214 form to the University Advising Center located in Ransom Hall or by email to firstname.lastname@example.org.
To support students’ success in their math classes, UTA utilizes the MPT to determine your appropriate math placement. To ensure proper academic advisement for your degree, the Math Placement Test must be completed prior to attending orientation.
