The University of Texas at Arlington is issuing additional refunds to students who purchased 2019-20 academic year parking permits.
UTA previously issued partial refunds for the dates March 16-May 15, which is the end of the spring 2020 semester. UTA also will issue refunds for permits that are active through Aug. 21, which is the end of the academic year.
UTA announced on March 25 that it will be issuing partial prorated parking permit refunds for students due to the campus closure for COVID-19. At the time, summer school had not yet moved to an online-only format. The refund was calculated using the date range of March 16 - May 15, 2020, the dates the university was closed for face-to-face classes. Parking permit refund amounts will vary based on the type of permit purchased, but each permit refund is prorated for the same 60 days. These refunds were posted to MyMav on April 2, 2020.
On April 2, 2020, UTA announced online instruction would continue for Maymester and Summer 2020 courses. On April 7, 2020, UTA announced additional parking permit refunds for all student permits active between May 16 - August 21, 2020, the dates the university will have online instruction courses only. Parking permit refund amounts will vary based on the type of permit purchased, but each permit refund is prorated for the same 97 days. These refunds are expected to post to MyMav starting the week of April 13, 2020.
Customers won't be refunded for dates before March 16, 2020.
Faculty/Staff refund information can be found here.
Even though a refund has been issued for a parking permit, the parking permit will stay active until its expiration date. Parking permit refunds will not apply toward outstanding citations. Citations must be paid for separately to the parking office.
UTA will credit each student’s MyMav account with the refund(s). If students have any outstanding university charges on their MyMav account at the time of a refund, the refund will be applied to those outstanding charges first. Any remaining funds after the outstanding charges are paid will be refunded to the student.
UTA will issue refunds as quickly as possible but, given the number refunds to be processed, this could take up to 30 days. Students do not need to take any action to request refunds. All refunds will be automatically issued to those that are eligible.
