Course Information

Supply your course information. If this is a Change/Update only list those classes you have would like to ADD and/or DROP.

There is no need to list lab sections (same course number, different section), unless the lab is a stand-alone course with a different course number.

If you are not officially enrolled, we cannot certify your courses. Any courses not on your Official Degree Plan on file at the UTA VA Office WILL NOT be certified.

If you are WAITLISTED the course cannot be certified. You must recertify for WAITLISTED classes when you are enrolled in them.

ANYTHING INCORRECT/INCOMPLETE WILL DELAY PROCESSING!

Dropping Courses - Mitigating Circumstances (if applicable)

Please send supporting documentation of your mitigating circumstances to VA@UTA.EDU immediately after dropping your course. VA regulations require these records to be retained in your student file.

Statement of Understanding

  1. I understand that I must complete this form each semester AFTER I register in order to continue receipt of my benefits and that I must complete this form with a "A Change/Update to a Previous Request" if I ADD or DROP a course.

  2. I understand I must submit an Official Signed Degree Plan for my chosen course of objective leading to a standard college degree or certificate and have all prior training evaluated prior to submitting this form. I do not expect to be paid by the VA for courses previously passed or for courses not required for my chosen objective or major and that I must make satisfactory progress toward graduation to continue receipt of benefits.

  3. I understand that grade of "W" and "X" may result in reduced payment from the VA and that the VA will not pay for audit or non-credit, "NC", classes. I further understand that a grade of "X" must be converted to a regular letter grade within one year to prevent possible reduction or overpayment of benefits.

  4. I understand that courses of other than normal semester term length may be paid at a different rate based on the number of credits and length of course.

  5. I understand the VA will hold me responsible for any overpayment of my educational benefits.

  6. In accordance with the Privacy Act of 1974 (Public Law 93-579), I authorize the VA to review and discuss my record concerning educational benefits with official representatives of the University of Texas at Arlington.

  7. I understand that benefit payments are always paid one month in arrears and initial payment of benefits may sometimes be delayed depending on the regional processing centers workload.

  8. I understand that by submitting this form electronically I certify that, to the best of my knowledge, all the information entered is true and that I have read, understand and agree to all conditions listed above.

  9. I understand the payments to the University of Texas at Arlington are reimbursements and not guarantees of payment. It is my responsibility to make timely payment arrangements as the VA does not guarantee processing times.
