Mooniversary: 50th Anniversary of the Apollo 11 Landing! - July 20th
UTA Planetarium is celebrating the 50th anniversary of the Apollo 11 moon landing with an all-day event hosted inside and outside the planetarium. We will be having regular public shows as well as free shows covering the Apollo missions leading up to and including Apollo 11, Apollo Trivia, and more!
Additionally, we will be having a guest speaker, Dr. Dora Musielak, a UTA Research Professor in the Physics Department. She will be giving a talk about the future NASA launch vehicles and how we will return to the Moon. She has a distinguished career in the aerospace industry and is a NASA Fellow, AIAA Associate Fellow, and many other recognitions.
See Dr. Dora's talk "Another Giant Leap for Humankind" at 6PM! This will be a free public lecture that celebrates the first lunar landing and focuses on the new technologies that NASA is developing to take us back to the Moon and send humans to other deep space destinations.
Along with our inside planetarium events, we will be doing engineering crafts, rocket launches, and even some telescope time!
All of these festivities will happen on July 20th from 1PM to 9PM!
