The University Committee on Committees


  1. Section 3-901 Structure

    1. The University Committee on Committees shall be elected by the respective college and/or school faculties for four-year terms and constituted as follows:

      1. One representative from the faculty of the College of Business,

      2. One representative from the faculty of the College of Education and Health Professions,

      3. One representative from the faculty of the College of Engineering,

      4. One representative from the faculty of the College of Liberal Arts,

      5. One representative from the faculty of the College of Science,

      6. One representative from the faculty of the School of Architecture,

      7. One representative from the faculty of the School of Nursing,

      8. One representative from the faculty of the School of Social Work, and

      9. One representative from the faculty of the School of Urban and Public Affairs,

      10. One representative from each undergraduate college faculty appointed by the President for four-year terms and

      11. One representative to be appointed by the President from the University Executive Committee.

    2. Elections and Appointments

      1. Elections and appointments shall be scheduled in such a manner that one elected member and one appointed member shall be chosen each year.

      2. The order of election by colleges shall be:

        1. Business, Education,

        2. Engineering,

        3. Liberal Arts, and

        4. Science.

      3. The order of appointment by colleges shall be:

        1. Education,

        2. Liberal Arts,

        3. Science,

        4. Business, and

        5. Engineering.

      4. The Rules and Elections Committee shall schedule the elections for the School of Social Work, the School of Urban and Public Affairs, the School of Architecture, and the School of Nursing in such a manner that staggered terms can be achieved.

      5. Members shall serve four-year terms and shall not be eligible to serve for the immediately following four-year period.

      6. A chair shall be elected by the committee from the membership each year and shall be eligible for reelection as chair.

  2. Section 3-902 Responsibilities

    1. Responsibility

      1. Members of the University Committee on Committees shall recommend members to the President for all general University committees subject to presidential appointment.

        1. The recommendations will be based on those received from faculty members and students.

        2. The Committee will place the recommendations on a list of nominees.

        3. The Committee will submit the list of nominees to the President.

        4. The slate of nominees for each committee shall be larger than the number to be appointed. (Normally, two nominations will be made for each committee appointment.)
