Motor Vehicle Color and Identification Policy

Procedures
  1. The following policy will govern the uniform markings and color of vehicles belonging to The University of Texas at Arlington.

    1. Motor vehicles owned by the State of Texas and operated by The University of Texas at Arlington shall be white in color.

    2. When an additional vehicle is obtained, it will be processed through Asset Management & Receiving and then Facilities Management Department Vehicle Maintenance Shop for appropriate acceptance inspections, the application of new UTA decals and an identification number. Vehicles that are not white will be painted white prior to release at the using department's expense, unless the white has been waived by the Office of Administration and Campus Operations.

    3. When vehicles are dropped from the University of Texas at Arlington capital inventory list, the vehicle number may be reused by the designated department/activity.

    4. Vehicles assigned to the Police Department are exempted from this procedure, and will continue to adhere to approved existing Police Department procedures.
