Yesterday I had the privilege to meet with Mavericks across campus during #UTAMoveIn2015. 2000 students moved in during the event, with help from a record setting 786 volunteers! Among the volunteers were UT Arlington supporters City of Arlington Mayor Jeff Williams and Arlington City Council member Charlie Parker. Mayor Williams recently applauded plans to move forward with the new six-story Science, Engineering Innovation and Research building: “Cities that are fortunate to have a major public research university like ours thrive. They develop and retain a well-educated workforce, and attract businesses that depend on talent and innovation.” I look forward to continued partnership with the City of Arlington and to an exceptional fall semester for all Maverick students.
