It was an honor to be able to participate in UTA’s 21st Annual Benefit Pow Wow on Saturday, hosted by our Native American Student Association – the longest continually running Native American student group in Texas. This was the largest event yet, and if you didn’t make it this year, I encourage you to start planning now to attend next year’s event!
I truly appreciate the richness of the culture and the significance of the ceremony that this event shares with our community. The majesty and beauty of the day was remarkable. Be sure to watch for upcoming events hosted by the Native American Student Association, including nationally recognized speakers, screened films, language competitions, seminars and workshops.
Today, more than ever before, the respect for our past, the celebration of traditions, the honoring of contributions, and the recognition that our futures are intrinsically intertwined are critical to existing as a just and peaceful society.
