At a time of shrinking state and federal support for higher education, the generous financial support of our friends and alumni make the difference between hopes and transformational opportunities. The Donor Appreciation Reception held at the Fine Arts Gallery provided Lisa and me with the opportunity to thank our donors for all that they are doing for us. Their support makes it possible for students at UTA to excel, to reach for the stars and achieve dreams others thought impossible, and for faculty and staff to not only impact lives through higher education in the classroom but the community through research and scholarship.
We, at UTA, are fortunate to not just have generous donors but people invested in the community who connect their passion with action, people who see potential in the future and people who clearly recognize the ability of individuals to transform lives and in doing so shape society. Our continued progress as the Model 21st Century Urban Research University will depend on such generosity and I’m deeply grateful for the tremendous support provided to us by donors who represent our alumni, our faculty and staff, and members of the community. They are the true engine that powers this incredible institution. Together there is no goal that will not be met, and together we will enable opportunities for all our students to not just excel, but to transform themselves and our community while having a global impact.
