Areas of Research:
Aside from teaching at UT Arlington, I also currently work as a Research Nurse at Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital Dallas at the Institute for Exercise and Environmental Medicine. I work in the Cerebrovascular Lab, under Rong Zhang, PhD, where the primary focus of the studies I am involved in are on the aging brain, and the impact of exercise on Mild Cognitive Impairment.
The majority of my nursing background/experience is in Critical Care. I have experience working in several critical care units including the Cardiovascular ICU, Medical/Surgical ICU, and Coronary Care Unit. I have worked in a variety of roles in the Intensive Care Unit including experience as a Staff Nurse, Preceptor, Charge Nurse, ICU Unit Board Secretary, and most recently as an Agency/Travel nurse.
