Having recently been certified to conduct systematic reviews through the Joanna Briggs Institute, I am conducting a review titled "Best Practices in Primary Care to Promote Completion of Screening Colonoscopies." SR is a type of secondary research using precise approaches including meta-analysis.
I am currently finalizing secondary analysis of a research project titled "Nurse Practitioner Clinical Practice Patterns with Overweight and Obese Patients." We surveyed a national sample of over 2500 certified family and adult nurse practitioners in the U.S. to determine how they practice with these high risk patients. The secondary analysis involves NP open-ended responses regarding their care of these patients.
I have developed a theoretical model that describes NP practice titled the Courtney Comprehensive Patient-Centered care Model. We have developed video vignettes that demonstrate the model and are in the process of evaluating their validity & reliability. Initial construct validity for the model is strong. We will then be investigating the patient and NP research outcomes associated with communication training based on the model.
I continue to work with multiple datasets that represent employee and patient outcomes for those who have participated in a lifestyle change program titled the Game of Health. I also am analyzing a datset to explore Best Practices of NPs in the care of Patienst with Type 2 Diabetes.
