Director of Engineering Online: Overseeing the College of Engineering’s Online presence. Assisting the College of Engineering to provide “Flipped”, hybrid and online courses that allow Masters students to participate in UTA courses and earn MS degrees whether they are local or remote. Developing policies and procedures to support the Engineering Online program. Identifying programs and courses to offer. Performing market analysis. Developing instructructional support services including classroom support, lecture development, and teaching skills development.
Senior Lecturer: Revised and updated the Senior Design Project section of the Undergraduate curriculum. Taught Graduate and Undergraduate classes.
Undergraduate Advisor. Advised Undergraduate students regarding their academic programs. Updated advising procedures using MuMav, the online Student Information System, and local processes.
Associate Chair for Graduate Advising and Research, Electrical Engineering Department. Coordinated the Graduate Advising activities of the Electrical Engineering department. Reviewed all MSEE applications, Advised graduate students regarding their programs of study and academic progress. Assigned Teaching Assistants for all Electrical Engineering classes. Coordinated with the College of Engineering and Office of Research to inform the EE faculty of grant opportunities in their areas of research. Coordinated Industry Advisory Board meetings. Served in other areas as assigned. Maintained and updated EE entries for the Graduate Catalog and Web site. Taught classes.
Program Manager, Benchmarking. Directed the on-site collection and analysis of wireless voice and data network metrics in markets throughout the United States then presented the analyses to the customer. Responsible for staffing, schedule, budget, processes and the technical accuracy of the work performed.
Adjunct Assistant Professor, University of Texas at Dallas. Special assignment from Ericsson to develop and teach undergraduate telecommunications curriculum. See below.
Manager, Competence Management. Participated on corporate task force to determine strategic skills needed to support core competencies. Defined competence profiles for several departments. Implemented competence management for the Product Management department.
Manager, Technical Sales Support. Senior Manager, recruited to redefine and rebuild the Technical Sales Support function. Identified customer needs and determined the appropriate Ericsson solution to the customers’ needs. Provided customer feedback to the Research and Development function, involving the definition of new market niches. Worked closely with Engineering and Product specialists ensuring that Ericsson’s proposed solutions to RFPs and RFIs properly addressed the customer’s needs. Provided product training to sales and marketing staff. Analyzed inter-departmental processes, planning, documenting, and implementing changes to enable Ericsson to better meet customer expectations. Worked with Malcolm Baldrige criteria to improve internal operations. Serve as member of Ericsson-wide task force introducing Strategic Competence Management to the North American organization. Planned, chaired, and presented technical sessions for industry forums.
Manager, Systems Instruction and Development. First manager of Technical Instruction group responsible for cellular systems related courses, including SS7, IS-41, Operation Support Systems, Cellular Digital Packet Data, Voice Messaging, TDMA and GSM Air Interfaces and Power. Prior to management, taught/developed Operation and Maintenance classes covering both Switch and Radio Base Station. Responsible for staffing, schedule, and budget.
