Please Volunteer as an ACES FACULTY JUDGE

Please consider signing up to serve as a judge for UT Arlington's 2014 Annual Celebration of Excellence by Students (ACES) event, to be held on Wednesday, March 26th. The ACES symposium is a university-wide event that showcases the best of our students’ research and creativity. Undergraduate and graduate students work with faculty mentors in their disciplines to write and submit abstracts for the competition. The approved abstracts are then developed into oral presentations or posters to be presented at the symposium. In evaluating presentations and posters, judges' assessments are guided by a well-established rubric (to be provided on the day of the event). The highest rated presentations and posters are selected to receive awards which are presented on the evening of the symposium.

Judges are invited to a breakfast, buffet luncheon, and an afternoon reception on the day of the student competition.  Judges can sign up for morning (7:30-12:00) and/or afternoon slots (12:30 to 5:00). Judges will receive follow-up information with more details on the schedule in early March.

To indicate your availability for serving as an ACES judge, please go to For questions, please contact ACES Steering Committee Member Dana Dunn at Thank for considering volunteering your time and expertise in this important University initiative.
