The Maverick Business Pitch Competition encourages students to explore and express their business ideas. It is open to all UTA undergraduate and graduate students who can compete alone or in teams of up to four. Individuals/teams will submit a three-minute video describing their business idea. A panel of judges will review the video pitches and select those that will be invited to present a live six-minute pitch for a chance to win up to $15,000 in venture development funds. Through the CEEI, UTA is a member of the Global Consortium of Entrepreneurship Centers (GCEC). GCEC links over 250 national and global university-based entrepreneurship centers and organizations. GCEC’s goals are to share best practices to advance, strengthen and celebrate the impact of university-based entrepreneurship centers and programs. Each year a global conference is held on the campus of a GCEC member school.
Students at VentureWell member institutions are eligible to compete for grants and training. For example, the E-Team Program provides funding of up to $25k, hands-on workshops, peer networking opportunities, and expert coaching for students working to commercialize their high-impact science and technology inventions.
